La calle Francisco Silvela es una vía importante del distrito de Salamanca, en Madrid. Se extiende desde la Plaza de Manuel Becerra hasta la glorieta de López de Hoyos.
Fue nombrada en honor al político y escritor español Francisco Silvela. En origen formaba parte del inacabado proyecto de circunvalación conocido como “paseo de Ronda”.
A lo largo de Francisco Silvela hay una mezcla de edificios residenciales, locales de comercio y oficinas. En su recorrido destacan el Parque Eva Perón, la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Covadonga y antiguos espacios de ocio como el desaparecido Cine Victoria.
La calle también sirve como línea divisoria entre los barrios de La Guindalera y Lista, reflejando la evolución urbana de esta parte del distrito.
En 2020-2021 se llevó a cabo una remodelación importante: se demolió el paso elevado —conocido como “scalextric”— que unía Joaquín Costa y Francisco Silvela sobre las glorietas de López de Hoyos y Príncipe de Vergara, rediseñando las aceras, una mediana central y carriles bici.
Gracias a su longitud y conexiones, Francisco Silvela es hoy una vía con tráfico intenso y múltiples líneas de transporte público, que conecta el este del barrio de Salamanca con otras zonas de Madrid.
