Barajas is one of the 21 districts that make up the city of Madrid, administratively organized into the neighborhoods of Alameda de Osuna (21.1), Aeropuerto (21.2), Historic Center of Barajas (21.3), Timón (21.4) and Corralejos Its geographical location is defined by the following urban terms: To the west, with the municipality of Paracuellos de Jarama. To the south, with Avenida de América and Autovía del Nordeste (A-2). It limits with the district of San Blas-Canillejas. To the east, with the M-40 Highway. It borders the district of Hortaleza.4 To the north, with the municipality of Alcobendas. The district has two clinics, one in the Alameda de Osuna neighborhood and another in the Timón neighborhood, which until 2013 had a 24-hour emergency service. Since June 2013, numerous neighborhood actions organized by the Alameda-Barajas Popular Assembly have been taking place, given that the Community of Madrid set out to close the ER in the district and finally succeeded in October of that year. Currently this group, together with the Plus Ultra Neighborhood Association and individual residents, continues to request the total reopening 24 hours a day, 365 days for this service, which covers more than 46,000 residents plus a floating population (hotels, airport etc). In the Barajas district, there are 10 nursery schools (two public and eight private), four public schools for infant and primary education, and a secondary education institute (IES Alameda de Osuna) and vocational training cycles and middle grade in ( IES Barajas).
