Vicálvaro is one of the 21 districts that make up the city of Madrid, located southeast of the capital and administratively divided into the neighborhoods of Casco Histórico de Vicálvaro (19.1), Valdebernardo (19.2), Valderrivas (19.3) and El Cañaveral (19.4). It limits to the west with the district of Moratalaz (through the M-40 highway), to the north with that of San Blas-Canillejas (through the M-40, the avenue from Canillejas to Vicálvaro, the radial R-3 and the road from Vicálvaro to Coslada), to the south with Puente de Vallecas and Villa de Vallecas (through the A-3 motorway) and to the east with the municipalities of Coslada, San Fernando de Henares and Rivas-Vaciamadrid. In the district of Vicálvaro, there are 12 nursery schools (3 public and 9 private), 7 public schools for infant and primary education, 3 secondary schools and 4 private schools (with and without a concert). The Vicálvaro Campus (Madrid) has been the headquarters of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences (FCJS) of the Rey Juan Carlos University since 1998. Previously, the Complutense University of Madrid shared the teaching center for eight years (Ramón Carande) . Among the facilities are a management building, a classroom, a departmental building and a library.
